There are two options for charging your electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle at home . The simplest is to plug the vehicle into a standard household outlet using the supplied home charging cable. The fastest is to have a dedicated home charging station, such as the Ford wallbox, for charging up to five times faster than with a standard outlet.
The cost of charging an electric car depends on a number of variables, such as the size of the battery, the electricity tariff applied, the battery charge level and the temperature of the electric vehicle.
CHARGE FROM A STANDARD SOCKET
Charging your hybrid or electric vehicle from a standard household socket is very simple. All you need is the supplied home charging cable and a plug to hand.
This isn't the fastest method due to limited power from household outlets, but if you charge your EV overnight, it will usually be charged for the next day.
Since no additional equipment is required, it is an affordable and accessible way to charge an electric car at home. Plus, you can save even more by choosing a lower electricity rate during off-peak times.
HOME CHARGING COLUMN
n EV home charging station, such as the Ford Wallbox, is a dedicated charger for your electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle . As the name indicates, this is a wall-mounted unit typically including an integrated electric vehicle charging cable. It's the fastest home charging option, being up to five times faster than charging from a standard household outlet.
